Lyons Lakestay is a modern ,Organic ,Eco-friendly ,casual accommodation to suit the independant traveller looking to stay away from the busy city centre,bus crowds and sulphur fumes.Accommodation available to suit those requiring a,relaxed,friendly "boutique style" backpackers,B&B or Holiday unit for small groups.Nestled in Native bush opposite Lake Okareka.Just 12 km (a 10 minute scenic drive)from the rotorua city centre,attractions and restaurants,but away from the busy city centre,bus crowds and sulphur fumes. Only 3 rooms,guest shared facilities.A short walk across the road to the lake.Get up close and personal with local Flora and Fauna with easy access to Lake edge boardwalk and wetlands,Bush walks ,use one of our kayaks for hire on the lake,hire a mountainbike to explore the world class tracks nearby,head out onto the Lake for some Trout Fishing(lake open all year),or refresh yourself in the summer at our special swimming spot ,just 30m away.There are 4 other picturesque lakes available nearby. A great base for visiting attractions further afield in Waikato,Waitomo ,Taupo and the Coastal area of the Bay of Plenty(all within 1-2 hours drive)or to relax and recover from Jetlag and tiring road travel.A fully equipped modern kitchen opens onto a BBQ/courtyard area with views of the lake,where you can relax and enjoy the Native birdlife and natural surroundings.All rooms have an outlook onto native Bush and gardens.
