2006 Tourism award-winning Kawaha Point Lodge is a beautifully appointed lodge offering luxury accommodation, right on the edge of Lake Rotorua. Originally built as a luxurious lake-edge villa for several of Auckland’s premier families, today it offers the discerning visitor the opportunity to experience the comforts and hospitality of hosted luxury lodge accommodation, whilst enjoying an exclusive and intimate environment.
Hosts Margaret and Tony Seavill, both New Zealanders, spent years searching for their ultimate location before finding the lodge sited amidst rose gardens and lawns with its magnificent views over lake Rotorua. The love and attention to detail they have lavished on Kawaha Point Lodge is evident in every aspect, from the use of luxurious rich cream tones, carefully chosen furnishings and artwork in the rooms creating an air of calm and serenity, to the menus especially created by resident Michelin-trained chef, Silvio Sakrzewski.
Kawaha Point Lodge won the New Zealand Tourism Award for Outstanding Hosted Accommodation in 2003/4, was awarded the 2005 New Zealand Beef and Lamb Hallmark of Excellence, is a member of Select Hotels & Resorts International, is a member of the New Zealand Lodge Association, and is 5 star Qualmark rated.
Kawaha Point Lodge has been voted by New Zealand Travel USA in the “Top 10 Award Winners” for accommodation in New Zealand as voted by their travelers in 2004, this is the second consecutive year the lodge has received this award.
